You can’t control people by force anymore, but you can get them to focus on nothing but maxing out five credit cards, okay you got them under control. They don’t talk to anybody. They have no ideas. They don’t think you can do anything.
The world does not reward honesty and independence; it rewards obedience and service. It’s a world of concentrated power, and those who have power are not going to reward people who question that power.
Think on this and look at the headlines in your local mass media outlets. We have the global 1% (the rich gettin' richer), religious extremists (you must believe what I believe) and state based (Hong Kong, Putin's Russia et al) powers.
Where I think the change can come from is through social media and the internet. We do talk to each other and we do have ideas. We need to filter them to the top of the candy crush saga world and take the power back. We always have it. We just give it away to corporations, governments, religions and the media.
Collectively we are more powerful than any institution, state or religious fundamentalist.
We have to choose to collectively exercise that power.
