Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) has welcomed the announcement in the Federal Budget that aged care accreditation will be privatised and believes quality, consumer choice and innovation will flourish as a result.
“The number of Australians relying on age services is growing by the day. Change is needed urgently but regulation has been standing in the way of innovation,” LASA CEO, Patrick Reid, said.
“The age services industry needs innovation to drive competition, improve quality standards and give consumers more options. Experience has shown that consumer choice cannot be regulated.”
#AgedCare #accreditation will not get better by simply privatising – it needs #regulation and #assessment of the #innovations. #health
